One of the things I love about old school D&D (or new school, for that matter) was the economy of XP. Experience points really influenced our decisions back then. Was fighting that dragon worth the benefits of going up a level or two?

Full disclosure: the idea for this silly/gonzo random table was inspired by Jeff Rients' blog post. And the whimsical comment from Dave S (Certified).

Sly Flourish said something on twitter about awarding advantage in D&D when players made a successful skill check in order to gain the upper hand via terrain or something.

It occurred to me this morning in the shower that certain magic items should have a little extra something extra. Full disclosure: I watched The Beastmaster again last night.

That's right, rolling for damage is totally optional!

If that's an extra step you just don't want to screw around with, just roll your attack dice pool and the results will speak for themselves...
