Alpha Blue Language Cypher

There's literally millions of languages used throughout the Alpha Blue universe. Even among humans there's quite a variety. So, how are you supposed to understand the glibnort trying to tell you that a krenvyk has set fire to your crotch lapels?

With the languatron, of course! Yes, I was re-watching the original Battlestar Galactica pilot and noticed their little handheld device flash on the screen for a couple sub-microns. It looks just as hokey and godawful-awesome as 70's scifi should.

The following random table provides a little fun when using the languatron. There's only a 1 in 6 chance (per use) of some issue cropping up, but if the PCs are relying on their language cypher frequently, the Space Dungeon Master should have ample opportunity to screw with the players' characters.

Languatron Malfunctions

1. Decodes an entirely different language.
2. Inserts inappropriate sexual language into the conversation.
3. Gives the opposite meaning of what was intended.
4. The languatron just stops working.
5. It suddenly starts decoding thought-waves, rather than speech.
6. The device's polarity sonar wipes [roll %] of nearby data storage and memory banks.

FYI, there's still a bit of time to back my latest Kickstarter. Battle For The Purple Islands is an O5R scenario with additional campaign setting information meant to be used alongside The Islands of Purple-Haunted Putrescence. Thank you for your support!
